ProMath 2014

It is our pleasure to invite you to the 16th conference on Problem Solving in Mathematics Education, ProMath 2014, organized by the University of Helsinki. The conference is held from May 27th to May 30th 2014 at the Department of Teacher Education, Siltavuorenpenger 3 A.


Aim of the conference

The aim of the conference is to provide a discussion forum and to present research results in the field of problem solving. In the ProMath spirit we will provide enough time to engage in in-depth discussions after each presentation.

The theme for the conference is Problem Solving Makes School Mathematics Enjoyable and Challenging.


Conference fee

The conference fee is going to be about 100 euros. The fee includes coffee break refreshments, lunches, get together event and conference excursion marked in the program. Information about the fee and the payment policy will be published on this webpage in January 2014.

Program

The conference begins on 27th of May at 12.00 with opening words and a keynote lecture held by professor (emer.) John Mason. The conference ends at 14.00 on the 30th of May.

Conference proceedings

Conference papers are going to be published as a special issue in LUMAT journal (an electronic journal) in the beginning of 2015. See www.luma.fi/lumat-en/ for more information about the journal.
Deadline for the papers is August 31, 2014. Review-process begins after that.

Additional information

We are going to organize also a smaller meeting for researchers who are interested in using drawings as a research method on Friday the 30th of May. You are all welcome to participate to this meeting after closing session. The meeting will end at 17.00.

Notice also that the Seventh Nordic Conference on Mathematics Education, NORMA 14 will take place in Turku (Åbo), Finland (www.turku.fi) 3-6 June 2014.
