ProMath and WG Problem Solving 2018

It is our pleasure to invite you to joint conference of Problem Solving in Mathematics Education group (ProMath) and the GDM Working group on Problem Solving (AK Problemlösen), organized by the University of Potsdam, Germany. The conference will be held from August 29^th to August 31^st, 2018 in the Department of Primary Teacher Education (Karl-Liebknecht-Str. 24-25, 14476 Potsdam, Campus Golm).

Aim of the conference

The aim of the conference is to provide a discussion forum and to present research results in the field of problem solving. In the ProMath and WG Problem Solving spirit we will provide enough time to engage in in-depth discussions after each presentation.
The theme for the conference is

Implementation research on problem solving in school settings

Participants are invited to submit presentations in the form of

• research papers, that have a rigorous theoretical underpinning (empirical, theoretical, or developmental papers), or
• papers from teachers and other practitioners on research and/or experimental work
  

with a focus on implementation research on problem solving in mathematics classroom.

The conference will be held in English.

If you plan to participate at the ProMath and WG Problem Solving joint conference, the registration form must be in the hands of the organizers no later than July 1^st, 2018.

If you are interested in presenting a research report, an abstract and a title of your presentation have to be submitted no later than May 15^th, 2018. Please use registration form for it.

Important dates

The latest day to submit an abstract: May 15^th, 2018.

The latest day to register: July 1^st, 2018.

Information about the acceptance of the report: June 15^th, 2018.

The latest day to submit the paper: to be posted later on.

Accommodation & Travel information

Potsdam is ca. 35 km outside of Berlin. The airports of Berlin (Schönefeld, Tegel) are served by flights from many cities in Europe. You can reach Potsdam from the airport with train or metro. The Department of Primary Teacher Education of University of Potsdam can be reached from the city center by bus or train. Public transport is very good in Potsdam. You can find a local map here.
